We headed east from Dumbleyung, past Wagin and Arthur River to a place called Lake Towerrinning
What a lovely place to stay for just $25 per night. We were fortunate to get the last spot as it was a long weekend and all the keen water skiers were staying here. And we only got this spot because someone cancelled at the last minute. The place was packed.
Next day we had the place all to ourselves after they had all left to go back to work. The first couple of days were good, however that soon changed and the weather became cold, wet and very windy. In fact the last night, the wind was rocking the van. Bit scarey, but we survived.
They must have shipped a ton of sand here to create a beach look as it is not near the ocean.
See Video below. I wanted to capture the fire and the lake water lapping on the beach.

Don't bother to go to Darken (See Map below).
There's nothing there.
Instead, head to Kojonup if you want to do a nice day trip.
It has an IGA, Pub and quaint gift shop as well as one of the best Information Centres that we have been to yet with free coffee for the driver.

In the back streets we found the most gorgeous little street where everyone had beautiful well kept gardens.
And a lovely little historical cottage.
