More about that later.

GREENS LAKE FREE CAMP, COROP

~~oOo~~

How good does that look!

And it was every bit as good, and more.

😁

We had just spent a few days at our first free camp at Newstead slap bang in the middle of Victoria.  All went well so we were confident that a couple more days free camping beside a lake would be pretty cool.  The lake was a welcome addition, because we had a few hot days, not that  I was not complaining at all after surviving 3 years of constant cold in Tassie.

Bird life here is a twitters dream.  We saw and heard many varieties.  The lake is also well known for good fishing and water activities.

There are toilets, showers and a dump point and you are allowed to have camp fires outside of high fire danger days.  We opened up our van windows and enjoyed the cross breeze late afternoon and evening.  How lovely to wake up to bird song and look out at this lovely lake with our first cuppa.

Paradise.  🥰

COLBINABBIN

~~oOo~~

Silo Art, Water Tank Art and just art on buildings is big in Australia.  The Silos here in Colbinabbin are still working silos as you can see from the truck that was here obstructing our good Silo Art photos.

😜

It's ok, he left so that I could get this pic.  The locals also decorated a few surrounding trees with prezzies, keeping the Christmas Custom theme.  There is ample parking for caravans.

We like to check out country Pubs to give back to these towns that look after us Grey Nomads.  So we left the car under the shade here, popped the bird in his backpack and headed around the courner to the Pub.

Colbo, as the locals call it.  After all it's hard to get used saying Colbinabbin.  I took to it straight away as I used to live in Dakabin, which rhymes with Colbinabbin lol.  Tookie was a hit in the Pub.  The cook wanted to keep him.

 😀

On the way there, we met another parrot which looked like a larger version of Tookie.  He was an African Ringneck and considerably larger.   Hubby got a video.  Not good.  But you can see him in it.  Check out the Colbinabbin Video below.

ROCHESTER

~~oOo~~

In keeping with the Silo Art theme, the little town of Rochester to the north of our camp, packed a punch.  It looks like there were only 2 Silos, but if you walk around the back there is another one and a couple more paintings.  The artists that do these always amaze us.  Such colour and detail!

MOON

Yes, I saved the best for last.

Stairway to the Moon has been on my bucket list.  I put that thought away when we our visit to Broome did not coincide with this phenomenon.

Well guess what!  Yep, my opening pic gave it away.  I got the photos!  And I am super happy!

🤪
